Normiska spent over three years developing the technology for its bark compost products. The company contracted a team of experts in the scientific fields that effect the composting process such as horticultural science, energy metabolism, silviculture and biochemistry. This group developed, over a three-year period, proprietary processes and product groups that are on the leading edge of the horticulture industry today.

Composting technology is a burgeoning scientific field with a significant impact on the economies of agriculture, horticulture and waste recycling.

It is now recognized that we must find alternatives to conventional waste disposal by utilizing proper recycling techniques. The key to compost processing technology is that it must be inexpensive and it must yield a product that has a marketable value.

Normiska continues its research and development program and is currently evaluating whether or not large volume non-hazardous solid waste can be potentially co-processed and co-marketed with pine bark.
